Balclutha Primary School pupils Sophie Jack, 13, and Holly Wilson, 12, hung out with Sophies dog Meg at their annual school Pet Day held at the Balclutha Showgrounds on Friday last week. Although mediocre, the weather did not stop pupils from bringing their pets out to be exhibited by parents and locals for the day as the school held prizes for animals and competitions, along with a barbecue and parade of the kids and their pets. Youngsters were excited to see different dogs, lambs, calves and more at the pet day and pets were hidden out of the cold winds. PHOTO: EVELYN THORN
