Otago Spirit was pipped to the post 24-20 by a determined Hawke’s Bay Tui side on Saturday, during the teams’ Farah Palmer Cup final clash in Balclutha. A capacity South Otago crowd turned out to barrack for the blue-and-gold in excellent, sunny conditions, and were treated to a high-quality encounter, which could have gone either way. Several local girls were in action, including Spirit captain Tegan Hollows. The halftime score was 17-17. The Clutha Leader’s Richard Davison was there to capture the action.
