Practice makes perfect

Milton bowler Lynley Lou Wyber practises for her pairs semifinal during finals weekend last Saturday at the Balclutha Bowling Club. Bowls South Otago showcased their best bowlers on their finals weekend. Bowlers put their best foot forward over the two days and the sun gave participants plenty of time to win their matches outdoors. Men’s match committee convener Murray Patterson said he was pleased to have the finals weekend go ahead. ‘‘It’s nice to have it over two days, so we can be as inclusive as possible. ‘‘Previously it has been difficult getting everyone around at the same time but the finals weekend goes all day for the two days, so when bowlers are available to play their match they can.’’ More than 20 bowlers went head to head in semis and finals for singles, pairs, triples and fours in what they call ‘‘the big dance’’ of South Otago Bowls.
