The Otago under-16 girls’ Metro and Country teams played a game of three halves with Southland at Balclutha Showgrounds at the weekend.

The teams will continue playing development games for three weeks.

More than 150 people travelled to watch the games and supported the sporting superstars in their games.

The Otago Country under-16 women’s squad included South Otago High School pupils Aleisha Davey, Aniva Gouman, Bridget Roy, Elri Geldenhuys, Greer Foster, Holly Bisset, Isabel O’Riordan Lawlor, Jorja Andrews and Mia Mckenzie.

The results from game one saw Otago Metro beat Otago Country 12-5, game two saw Southland beat Otago Metro 21-15, and game three saw Otago Country beat Southland 17-12.
