A group of health professionals (top row from left) Sarah Cameron, Livia Hardy, Jo Sparks, Jaedn Creid, Eileen Stephen, (bottom row from left) Marja Captijn and Rachel Barraclough teamed up to provide Clutha women free menopause advice, cervical screening, breast screening and more at Balclutha’s St John building last week. Ms Barraclough said the idea was to have a presence in the area for women who were ‘‘backlogged’’ in the system, might not have had access in the past or just wanted to check in with someone.

‘‘We’re promoting women’s health and encouraging them to be empowered in decisions they make with their health and wellbeing,’’ she said.

The event was a one-off but could stem into more in future, she said.
