Detailed planning for extensions to the Kaitangata Skate Park are moving along nicely, Kaitangata Skate Park committee chairman Dallas Storer says.

“We are well under way with the preparation for our planned skate park extension.

‘‘Recently, engineers from Civil Concrete stopped in to look at the section and to discuss ideas on what we are looking to do with it,” he said.

“They said they will come back to our group with plans and ideas in a couple of weeks.”

The committee had received $40,000 towards the project from the Clutha District Council and he believed final budget calculations would be around the $80,000 mark, so the group still had some fundraising to do, Mr Storer said.

“Civil Concrete have been working closely with Dave North, who built the original skate park four years ago.

“He has advised us that he may be able to help with the extension, and we are looking for anyone willing to help in whatever way they can, whether it be on the committee or funds,” Mr Storer said.
