Seniors’ lunch raises $1331

General manager of Rosebank lodge, Sam Vaughan (left) and Clutha Licensing Trust (CLT) general manager Mike Curtis were sociable Santas at CLT’s annual seniors’ Christmas luncheon at Rosebank Lodge last week. ‘‘The seniors’ lunch has been going for many years,’’ Mr Curtis said. ‘‘It’s the largest charitable event on the CLT calendar and certainly the biggest local charity event for our seniors. It’s wonderful to see the smiling, chatting, catching up with old friends and enjoying music from their era. It helps strengthen the connections between the elders networks around the district.’’ The luncheon provides free food and drink for attendees but each guest brought a$5 donation for Clutha Budget Advisory Service (CBAS), which was gratefully accepted in a short speech by CBAS manager Lee Anne Michelle. About 150 people arrived for each sitting last Tuesday and Wednesday and a total of $1331 was raised. REPORT & PHOTO: NICK BROOK
