Play time

Families of the Naish & Centennial Park Redevelopment Group are the first to play on stage 1 of the project’s new playground last Wednesday.

The fences came two days later and, on Saturday, the park was opened to the public.

Committee member Lynda Miller said it was a lovely moment for the families of committee members to have a go on all the equipment and see the hard work that had been put into creating the first phase.

Ms Miller said the committee was excited for the public to experience the new facility.

‘‘For future stages we have some great ideas still in mind, including a flying fox,’’ she said.

The committee is seeking sponsorship and financial support for the second stage of the playground and wider park development.
