Locks to go for charity

A South Otago High School teacher will be getting wiggy this coming Wednesday. The high school will be supporting ‘‘Wig Wednesday’’ on September 7 to raise money for the Child Cancer Foundation. The school’s head of social sciences Mike Beeby has committed to shaving off his ‘‘long and impressive’’ classic South Otago tresses if $2500 can be raised. Mr Beeby said he would prefer to keep his lovely long locks, but acknowledged their loss would be for a good cause. The donation link can be found through the South Otago High School Facebook page. To get involved with Wig Wednesday for child cancer, wear your favourite wig, style a funky hairdo or even shave your head on September 7 along with Mr Beeby.
