This week’s Silver Fern Farms Local Legend is Milton mother Sharna Reid, displaying her prize with daughter Taya Robinson, 10, and day guest Zeke Lyon, 15 months.
Sharna was nominated as ‘‘a selfless mother’’ who provided ‘‘endless support to others and their children’’ in their community.
Her passion for child education and the support of parents resulted in the creation of a popular twice-weekly play group for young families to come together in a positive and nurturing environment.
Her involvement in the junior netball Future Ferns was just another example of her volunteering her own time so children had opportunities.
‘‘I have to thank my partner for his support, and all the parents who’ve got involved,’’ Sharna said.
