More than 100 people and multiple pre-1980s classic cars turned out for a cruise around Otago and Southland for the third Crescent Car Cruise last Saturday.

The cruise went from the Crescent Bar & Grill in Kaitangata to Papatowai, Tokanui, Bluff, Edendale, Clinton then back to Kaitangata. Event organiser Kirsty Nolan said she was glad the event had grown into an annual cruise that many looked forward to.

‘‘It started off as three guys in cars wanting to go for acruise, then a few more heard about it and spread the word. Our first year hosted 38 cars which was awesome, and it’s just grown from there.’’

A trophy for people’s choice went to Craig Johnstone with his XU1 Tourana with Kelvin Maguire was runner up.

The moss cross black sack most bogan trophy went to Will Harvey with his XT Falcon. PHOTO AND REPORT: EVELYN THORN
