Graeme Blackmore and his niece Tanya McCullum set out in their unique, custom Mini ute for the Far North last Saturday morning, after months of preparation and fundraising for the 2023 Pork Pie Charity Run.
‘‘We’re ‘Team Crazy Uncle’,’’ Mrs McCullum said ‘‘He’s the uncle and I’m the crazy!’’
The team scheduled two days to Picton for Monday’s ferry, followed by a drive to Paihia, where about 50 Minis would depart for a six-day tour to Bluff inspired by the 1981 film Goodbye Pork Pie .
‘‘Team Crazy Uncle has raised about $7500 so far, and the last Pork Pie Run collected more than $320,000 for the KidsCan charity,’’ Mr Blackmore said.
