An array of classic cars line up for the Crescent Car Cruise on Saturday. The cars began at the Crescent Bar and Grill in Kaitangata and headed out for a tour around the district and beyond, the theme of the cruise being ’80s vehicles. Participants grabbed a breakfast and hit the road at 10am for abig day. More than 30 cars signed up and travelled between Clinton, Mataura, Gore, Tapanui, Beaumont and Lawrence and back to Kaitangata. The cruise stopped in Tapanui, where prizes were handed out for people’s choice, runner-up and the much sought-after ‘‘bogan’s choice’’ awards. Branded T-shirts with photos of the participating vehicles on them were sold at this year’s event. Organiser Kirsty Elers said the event was asuccess and she was excited about the next cruise.
