The dealership’s roots date back to the early 1970s when Ken Hasler opened the second Honda dealership in New Zealand at 76 Clyde St, Balclutha.
Honda itself began not as a business, but as a dream.
Over 70 years ago, with his love of machinery and challenging spirit, Soichiro Honda imagined a way to improve people’s lives by creating an affordable means of transport and built his first motorised bicycle.

Honda began another revolution in the 1980s when Honda’s trikes appeared.
‘‘Before this farming was predominantly two-wheelers,’’ manager Gavin Sutton said.
‘‘They could pull trailers, mount sprayers and were safer and more stable and economical. Everybody wanted that versatility.
‘‘Then Honda’s quads came along with more power and options, and today we’re leading the way with side-by-side ATV technology.’’
