Local onlooker Helen Gilder appreciates a piece of photographic art work by member Karen Arthur of the Clutha Camera Club at the club’s exhibition in the Owaka museum last Wednesday. The club’s first exhibition since its establishment four years ago portrays the skills of its members: the range of styles includes black and white and nature photography. Clutha Camera Club member and organiser Wilma Sharp said she didn’t really have a favourite aspect of photography, but capturing a successful photo, getting the opportunity to try different genres and taking the perfect angled shot were a big part of her passion. The club has 36 members, who are set monthly themes and genres to photograph and produce at the end of the month to achieve merits and honours from competitions within the club. The exhibition will be available until Sunday.
