Good cheer to those doing it tough

As the festive season arrives at the end of a busy year, the Clutha Leader team wishes you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.

At this time, thoughts are of gifts and merriment, of good times with family and friends.

But please spare a thought for those who work on Christmas Day, for those separated by distance, for those incapacitated by fate, for those alone and for those missing loved ones recently departed.

For them Christmas may be a lonely affair. So take a moment on the day and say hello to your neighbours.

You may never know just how much love and kindness can be passed on with a simple “Hi, Merry Christmas.”

Six months have passed since Allied Press Ltd took ownership of the Clutha Leader. We have enjoyed covering the big (and small) issues in your district and look forward to being able to tell more of your stories in 2019.

Thank you to the readers and advertisers who are part of the Clutha Leader

Keep letting us know what is important to you – and keep turning to our print and online editions for the latest stories about your community and the people in it.

This is our last issue for the year.

Our first issue for 2019 will be on January 17.

Until then, we wish you a safe and happy festive season.
