The third round of the Clutha term 1 after-school cricket tournament was held at the South Otago Athletics Club in Balclutha last Thursday afternoon. The Girls Smash Cricket tournament is an entry level soft-ball cricket competition run by Otago Cricket for girls in years 2 to 8 that runs for five weeks. It involves two grades: Junior Smashes for years 2 to 5, and Superstar Smashers for years 6 to 8. Clutha Leader reporter John Cosgrove went along to capture the action.
