Bryce Clark, of Lovells Flat, exits the Clutha River during the first stage of the Ken Milne Classic triathlon in Balclutha on Saturday. Organiser Keely Hurring said finishers had reported a ‘‘tough’’ haul across a fast-flowing Clutha this year. ‘‘We had about 100 competitors across all classes, and about 10 of those were swimming as individual triathletes or members of teams. Although the swim was reported to be tough this year, it was also very fast.’’
The annual event, founded in 2009 and named in memory of former Clutha Rugby Club coach Ken Milne, was won by Inch Clutha dairy farmer Mark Watt.
