Shaking out the cobwebs from the summer holidays, the Clutha Rugby Football Club premier team kicked off its pre-season training preparations with its first full-on practice of the new year last Tuesday evening.
Premiers coach Simon Grant said he and the team hoped for a return to the normal rounds of competition, after last year’s very abbreviated season due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite the excessive heat experienced last week, a large number of the team turned out for a wide variety of fitness and ball handling exercises, which were designed to shake off the holiday cobwebs and start preparing them for the season ahead.
