Police sirens and the Balclutha Pipe Band’s bagpipes announced the start of the annual Clutha Country Christmas Parade. Forty floats and displays, schools and service groups worked their way down the main street in Balclutha to herald the arrival of Santa.

To the joy of many young and old, Santa eventually arrived aboard his sleigh and a three-wheeled motorcycle at the parade.

The recent fickle weather was kind to the hundreds who lined Clyde St. in Balclutha with the rain holding off until after the parade.
