Silver Fern Farms have announced an end to workplace vaccine mandates and passports.
On Monday, chief executive Simon Limmer thanked staff and lifted the policy in an email:
‘‘With the wide roll back of vaccine passports and Government requirements, we have completed another review of the Covid›19 Vaccination Policy and have decided to withdraw the policy with immediate effect.
‘‘The vaccination status of our employees, contractors or visitors are no longer a factor when employing, inviting or engaging as part of normal business activity.
‘‘While we are withdrawing the policy, we are mindful subsequent variants of Covid›19 could cause concern in the future and we maintain the right to reinstate a future risk›based policy should the need occur.
‘‘We have made our decisions in relation to Covid›19 based on the best advice from the Government and Ministry of Health.
‘‘Operational and corporate policies that govern Covid›19 measures remain and will be updated as risk settings evolve.’’
The memo also said on›site precautions including masks and rapid antigen testing remained critical, and that SFF would continue to offer staff time off work to obtain vaccines and boosters.
