South Otago Motorcycle Club member Madison Latta (pictured) was forced to retire after taking a spill in his second race at the Powerzone Motorcycles Hasler Memorial Motocross competition in Balclutha on May 13, reporting he was ‘‘OK, just a very sore body’’. Event coordinator Jo Bond said the event was an ‘‘awesome’’ day. ‘‘Balclutha track conditions were perfect, there were heaps of spectators and we had great feedback from the riders.’’ There were 160 entries from across New Zealand, and riders converged to compete beside the Clutha River. Winners of the two Hasler Memorial feature races were Seth Morrow, of Invercargill, in the juniors and Scott Columb, of Queenstown, in the seniors. REPORT: NICK BROOK/PHOTO: GEOFF GUTHRIE
