Fine weather greeted the spectators who attended the 56th annual Lawrence Rodeo on Saturday. Lawrence Rodeo Club secretary Marinka Kingma said everybody had a great day and close to 1500 spectators were treated to some fine displays of rodeo riding by more than 200 competitors. “The event ran amazingly well, the crowd were good and the club members and volunteers all pitched in to make it a great day out. “We also used the event to commemorate three of our long time supporters and sponsors who had sadly passed away recently, Trevor Peters of Peters Genetics and Chow Williams of South Otago Transport both have been long time sponsors and supporters, as was the late Dan Cummings. We will miss them all,” Ms Kingma said.
Clutha Leader reporter John Cosgrove went along to capture all the action, including the running of the novelty undie races.
