Happy to keep hosting breakfast

Balclutha Pink Ribbon Breakfast organisers Russell and Judy Houliston have been hosting the event raising funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation for nine years.

‘‘My husband and I have always loved organising the annual breakfast, it’s a great charity and a good way to go about raising money for it,’’ Mrs Houliston said.

She said she had had family members and friends who had experienced breast cancer and the pair were always happy to host the breakfast in order to bring locals together to support the charity.

The Pink Ribbon Breakfast is the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation’s largest fundraising campaign.

Money raised goes to fund breast cancer education, research and patient support.

The Balclutha event will be held from 10am Sunday at the Town and Country Club. The entry fee for adults will be $20 and for children a gold coin donation.

The breakfast is open to the public and all of the proceeds go towards the foundation.

The event has a silent auction and a raffle, for which many local businesses are involved with supplying prizes, and is cash only.

People can book in for the breakfast at the Town and Country Club in Yarmouth St, Balclutha or by phoning (03) 418›1522.
