Golden arches

Balclutha now has its own set of ‘‘golden arches’’, although on a somewhat grander scale than usual. After weeks of mucky, wintry conditions offering only grey vistas, the sun finally popped out on Saturday. As locals headed home after the great rugby final in Clydevale, many were greeted by the golden arches rising majestically over the Clutha River. An even better view could be found later in the afternoon by motorists looking up Clyde St in a northerly direction. Enjoy it while you can, as it may only be here for about 12 months or less, or until the community hub is built.
